Watertown Student Essayists Honored

Litchfield Bancorp Branch Manager Stephen Yonych, Kaya Grasso (Runner Up, St. Mary Magdalen School), Xander Romaine (Winner, Swift Middle School), Sarah Griffith (Winner, St. Mary Magdalen School), Sen. Rob Kane.

Watertown sixth graders were honored during a Dec. 8 ceremony for submitting winning essays in a contest to discuss their favorite U.S. President.

The first annual contest, sponsored by Sen. Rob Kane and Rep. Eric Berthel in partnership with Litchfield Bancorp, recognized students for their writing clarity. Winners were given $50 gift cards and runner ups $25.

In addition to commending the student essayists, Kane and Berthel thanked parents, educators and Litchfield Bancorp for their support.
