Listening to Consumers

Sen. Tony Hwang on Nov. 24 attended a State Capitol press conference where consumer advocates called for federal legislation to require labeling of genetically modified salmon. The advocates noted that federal rules require no special labeling for the engineered fish at grocery stores and fish markets, even though it will contain the genetic material of a bottom-feeder fish called the ocean pout to speed its growth.
