The state Department of Transportation just announced nighttime milling and resurfacing work for Route 25 in Newtown and I wanted to be sure you had all the information you’ll need.

Work is scheduled to occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, to the morning of Monday, Sept. 21.

  • The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.90-mile segment of Route 25 in Newtown.
  • Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 25 between Mile Hill Road and the Monroe Town line.
  • Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
  • This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2015 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
  • The DOT says motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. If that occurs, I’ll be sure to communicate it to you.

As always, please drive safe.
