Proposed Insurance Rate Hikes: How You Can Weigh In

Public hearings will be held soon on proposals to raise rates on insurance customers’ health plans for 2016.

I want to make sure you have the information you need.

The Connecticut Insurance Department will hold public hearings July 27.

• Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is seeking to raise rates by an average of 4.9 percent for its plans.
• ConnectiCare is seeking a 9.8 percent increase.
• Golden Rule proposed an 18.5 percent rate hike.

If you wish to weigh in on these proposed rate hikes, here’s how:

1. Send an email today to [email protected] expressing your opinion on the rate hike proposal. Be as brief as you like.
2. Put a specific insurer’s name in the email’s subject line.
