Letter: State budget set up unreasonable probate fees [Norwich Bulletin]

July 23, 2015

Letter as it appeared in the Norwich Bulletin

Connecticut families should not be subjected to unreasonable court fees when a loved one dies.

But, as Connecticut’s probate court administrator Paul J. Knierim points out, that’s exactly what will happen as a result of the new state budget (“Legislature’s probate fee changes are archaic, bad policy,” July 15).

All Republicans voted “no” on the budget. We encourage Bulletin readers to find out who their state legislators are, ask them how they voted on the multiple tax and fee hikes and hold them accountable for that vote.
