Letter Journalists’ exit worthy of applause [Rep-Am]

July 27, 2015

Rep-Am Letter to the Editor

“I’m 100 percent committed to having an administration that is open, transparent and accessible.” That was the pledge Gov.-elect Dannel P. Malloy made to Connecticut residents in December 2010. Since that time, his actions have told quite a different story (July 15 editorial, “Transparently secretive”).

I applaud Connecticut journalists for abruptly walking out of Gov. Malloy’s recent state Capitol news conference when the governor announced he was going “off the record” about the state budget.

Republicans will continue to remind voters of the hypocrisy of Gov. Malloy and Democratic leaders who promise to champion open government while doing exactly the opposite.
