Letter: Democrats crafted budget implementation bill in the dark [Norwich Bulletin]

The Bulletin is right to warn the public about the undemocratic budget implementation practice that has taken place at the state capitol (“Legislative session a mixed bag for freedom of information,” July 13).

All Republicans in the Legislature voted “no” on the budget implementation bill, which was crafted in darkness by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and majority Democrats. Remember, elections have consequences.

I encourage Bulletin readers to find out who their area legislators are and ask them how they voted. If they voted “yes,” ask them to explain why they felt the need to make our state government less transparent. Their answers should be interesting.
