Spreading the Word About “Safe Havens”

February 27, 2015

Sen. John A. Kissel, former Rep. Pam Sawyer of Bolton, and former Rep. Carl Schiessl of Windsor Locks appear on upcoming episodes of “Sen. Kissel & Friends” (Mondays at 9 PM on PATV15) . The show focuses on the Connecticut “Safe Havens” law which allows a parent to anonymously leave an infant, up to 30 days after birth, at hospital emergency rooms without the fear of prosecution. Since 2000, 24 babies have been rescued as a result of this law. For more information, call Infoline 2-1-1 or the National Safe Haven Hotline: 1-888-510-BABY. PATV15 can be seen in Enfield, East Granby, East Windsor, Granby, Hartland, Somers, Suffield, Union, Stafford Springs, and Windsor Locks.
