Sen. Markley, Rep. Zupkus, and Rep. Adinolfi to Host Town Hall Meeting in Cheshire

January 21, 2015

Cheshire– Senator Joe Markley (R-16), Representative Lezlye Zupkus (R-89), and Representative Al Adinolfi (R-103) will host a town hall meeting in Prospect to discuss the 2015 Legislative Session.

“I always look forward to town hall meetings,” said Senator Markley. “They are an excellent way to meet with constituents and hear their concerns.”

“It is important that my constituents know that I am available and accessible to them,” said Representative Zupkus. “With the 2015 legislative session now underway, fiscal responsibility is going to be a focal point. We need to continue to look at ways to better manage our finances and address economic concerns, ensuring a Connecticut that is more-friendly to businesses and encourages job growth. I encourage anyone with concerns to come to the meeting and share them with us.”

“These town hall meetings are where we, as state lawmakers, get the pulse of the communities we’re representing,” Adinolfi said. “I am looking forward to seeing our constituents there so we can discuss important legislative topics, from fiscal responsibility to healthier lives for seniors.”

The meeting will be held on Tuesday January 27th from 6:30-8pm at the Cheshire Senior Center, 240 Maple Ave, Cheshire. The event is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend.

“The legislature faces many important issues this session,” Senator Markley remarked. “Bills relating to state spending, the budget, and transportation will be debated and voted on. The governor will likely propose a new tax, road tolls, to pay for his new initiatives. These things matter to the people of Southington, and it is important for me to listen to their concerns.”
