Kelly Named Ranking Member of Aging and Insurance & Real Estate Committees

Senator Kelly will serve on the Aging, Insurance & Real Estate, Regulations Review, and Legislative Management committees

Hartford – State Senator Kevin Kelly (R-Stratford) has been appointed by incoming Senate Minority leaders Len Fasano (R-North Haven) and Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) to serve as Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Aging Committee and Insurance & Real Estate Committee for the 2015-2016 legislative sessions. Senator Kelly will also serve as a member of the Regulations Review and Legislative Management committees over the next two years.

“I am honored to be reappointed as Ranking Member of both the Aging and Insurance & Real Estate committees,” said Senator Kelly. “In these roles I will be able to continue addressing the needs of our state’s growing senior population as well as the insurance needs that impact every family in Connecticut. I will continue to advocate for improved healthcare access and affordability for people of all ages and reduce the obstacles people face when seeking appropriate insurance coverage.”

Senator Kevin Kelly has served as Ranking Member of both the Aging and Insurance & Real Estate committees since 2011. In this role, Senator Kelly is a leading voice on all matters relating to senior citizens in Connecticut as well as matters relating to insurance and real estate law.

Kelly’s appointment as a member of the Legislative Management Committee is a new assignment. He previously served on the Regulation Review Committee during the 2011-2012 session.
