Sen. Linares: Still Time to Speak Out Against Rate Hike Proposal

September 18, 2014

Sen. Art Linares today informed area residents that they still have time to voice opposition to the proposed CL&P rate hike.

The state’s final public hearing on the rate hike request is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, Sep. 26 at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) office, 10 Franklin Square, New Britain.

Those who cannot attend may email comments on the proposed rate hike to [email protected]. Put “Docket Number 14-05-06” in the email’s subject line, and cc the email to [email protected] .

“This rate hike, if approved by state regulators, would raise consumers’ bills by $150 a year,” Sen. Linares said. “Connecticut residents already have some of the highest electric rates in the country. This rate hike request is unaffordable and I urge people to join me in calling for its rejection.”
