Sen. Kane Applauds Nonnewaug Student

June 19, 2014

Sen. Rob Kane (R-Watertown) today applauded Nonnewaug High School senior Andrew Lampart on speaking out against possible political bias in the school district’s software.

Kane, who represents Woodbury, said Lampart was correct to point out to school authorities dozens of websites that are blocked and should not be blocked.

“I urge students across Connecticut to do what Andrew did,” Kane said. “If you detect a problem with your school’s filtering software, don’t ignore it. Ask questions. Ask why you are being denied that access. I am pleased to see the school district is investigating the problem, and I encourage school districts across the state to take this opportunity to review and update their policies.”
