In a June 12 ceremony at Enfield Public Library, Sen. John A. Kissel and 360 Federal Credit Union presented Essay Contest Awards to area sixth graders.

Students from public and parochial schools in Enfield participated in the contest by submitting a 300-word essay about one of their happiest days in Connecticut.

“The essays were all excellent,” Sen. Kissel said. “The writing from our area students is top-notch. It was so uplifting to listen to the stories about their happiest days in Connecticut. We are very proud of all of them, and many thanks to 360 Federal Credit Union for donating the contest prizes. Without their generosity, this event would not have been possible.”

“At 360 Federal Credit Union, we strongly support youth education programs throughout Enfield and north-central Connecticut,” said 360 Federal Credit Union Business Development Officer Carissa Pape. “This essay contest brings area schools, students, teachers and parents together in a collaborative effort which encourages children to research and write. We’re proud to support the contest and we congratulate the winners and runners-up for their very thoughtful efforts.”
