Sen. Art Linares, Rep. Melissa Ziobron, and East Hampton Town Manager Mike Maniscalco on June 17 toured Village Center to discuss future blight removal, public safety improvements and public parking enhancements.

“The $500,000 state grant that was recently awarded to East Hampton will clean up a brownfield at the Summit Thread Powerhouse and turn it into a public parking area,” Sen. Linares said. “The project will promote economic development in East Hampton while removing a public health threat. It’s a win-win for East Hampton taxpayers.”

“We all want to strengthen our business center here in East Hampton,” Rep. Ziobron said. “By increasing parking in the Village Center we will stimulate growth for our small businesses and attract more customers. East Hampton has made great strides in the remediation of their brownfields and are fortunate to have high caliber volunteers working on these issues. This project will also benefit taxpayers going forward by removing a long-time liability from its financial reports. We look forward to seeing the progress.”
