Sen. Rob Kane on May 19 teamed up with New Opportunities Inc. Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to homebound seniors in Bethlehem, Oakville and Watertown.

“It means a great deal to me to be able to help seniors,” Sen. Kane said. “The volunteers at Meals on Wheels, as well as the staff at New Opportunities Inc., provide a tremendous service to our towns. I was honored to meet so many wonderful people.”

Sen. Kane and Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller recently raised more than $1200 at a charity event for Meals on Wheels.

Last year, the New Opportunities Inc. Meals on Wheels Program served over 500,000 meals to 1,700 homebound seniors in the Greater Waterbury and Danbury areas. Each day, the program delivers two meals to more than 700 seniors.
