Supporting Connecticut’s Libraries

April 16, 2014

On April 16, the Connecticut Library Association hosted a poster session at the State Capitol to display the work that is taking place in Connecticut libraries and why it is important for state legislators to continue to support the institutions. Sen. Art Linares (left) stopped by the event to speak with the Connecticut State Library’s Division of Library Development Director Dawn M. LaValle (right). Last year, Sen. Linares was an original co-sponsor of a bill which enabled Connecticut to become the first state in the nation to take steps toward making electronic books -the e-books read on devices such as iPads, Kindles, and Nooks – more accessible to state residents by making them more affordable for public libraries. Sen. Linares serves on the Education Committee and the Committee on Children. On the web: www.ctlibraryassociation.org .
