Sen. Rob Kane on Sept. 17 toured antiques dealers located on Main Street North in Woodbury to raise awareness about a new Connecticut law which establishes a statewide “Connecticut Antiques Trail.”

Sen. Kane, who was joined on the tour by Woodbury First Selectman Jerry Stomski, visited Mill House Antiques, Wayne Mattox Antiques, and Abrash Galleries to chat with business owners and discuss the new law.

The new law, which Sen. Kane sponsored, aims to promote antiques shops throughout the state with road signs, notices and web advertisements. Sen. Kane likens the “Connecticut Antiques Trail” campaign to the Connecticut Wine Trail, which promotes vineyards with road signs.

“The tour was a lot of fun – our Woodbury antiques dealers are extremely knowledgeable,” Sen. Kane said. “These small businesses attract visitors from far and wide, and this new law will help them get even more attention. We have a lot to be proud of, and this new law will help us get the word out about the excellent antiques dealers who are running businesses throughout Connecticut.”
