Sen. Kane Hosts “Axe the Gas Tax” Petition Drive in Woodbury Monday Afternoon

June 20, 2013

With the largest gas tax hike in state history set to hit Connecticut on July 1, Sen. Rob Kane on Monday (June 24) will be at Big Daddy’s Gulf Station, 1633 Main St. North, Woodbury to talk with motorists about an effort to prevent the upcoming pain at the pump.

Sen. Kane will be at the Gulf Station from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. getting the word out about the tax hike and adding taxpayers’ signatures to an “Axe the Gas Tax” petition.

“Taxpayers are already fed up,” Sen. Kane said. “Just wait until this tax hits in about a week. It will hurt businesses and families across the state. Taxpayers can help me send a message to Gov. Malloy that enough is enough. I hope to see many area residents on Monday afternoon.”

The petition can be signed online at www.AxeTheGasTaxCT.com.

Connecticut’s current taxes on a gallon of gas total about 47 cents. The July 1 tax hike will tack on about four more cents per gallon.
