Sen. Kane, Rep. Labriola: Good News for Oxford Seniors

April 26, 2013

State Representative David Labriola (R-131) and State Senator Rob Kane (R-32) today applauded the state’s Bond Commission for approving a $1,197,379 grant to the Oxford Housing Authority to revitalize housing units.

“Providing quality living spaces for our retired residents is a good investment for Oxford,” State Representative Dave Labriola said. “This grant will continue to add to the quality of life for the people of Oxford.”

“It’s good news for our area seniors,” State Senator Rob Kane said of the funding. “Demands for affordable senior housing such as Crestview Ridge continue to rise. This investment will help meet that demand by providing for clean, safe housing in the form of preserved, rehabilitated units. At the same time, many local construction jobs will be created. The project will be a nice boost and benefit for Oxford. It is very much appreciated.”

“This is a very exciting time for us, the units are in desperate need of updating and this will help all of my residents dramatically,” property manager Donna Lane said.

Crestview Ridge is a state-subsidized elderly and disabled housing facility with 34 one-bedroom units and a community room. This grant will be used for renovations and improvements to all of the units. The facility is also adjacent to the Oxford senior center.
