Sen. Art Linares on April 16 toured Old Saybrook-based Sound Manufacturing, Inc. (www.Soundmfg.com) and Monster Power Equipment, Inc. (www.monsterpowerequipment.com).

Sen. Linares visited the sheet metal fabricator to see its operations firsthand and talk with employees about what their thoughts and needs are.

“My goal in Hartford is to do everything I can to help area manufacturers and small businesses grow and add jobs,” Sen. Linares said. “Meeting the job creators here in Old Saybrook, seeing what they do and listening to them are the first steps in that process. State government needs to listen to what Connecticut manufacturers are saying.”

Sen. Linares, who serves on the legislature’s Commerce Committee and the bipartisan Manufacturing Caucus, was welcomed by company President and CEO Kelli Vallieres. Vallieres led Linares on the tour, introducing him to employees and discussing ways in which state government can better help area manufacturers grow and expand.
