Sen. Boucher Statement Regarding the Death of Westport Marine

Hartford, CT –State Senator Toni Boucher (R-Wilton) released the following statement today re: the death of Marine, Roger Muchnick of Westport. Muchnick was part of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force from Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C. Monday night he was one of seven Marine’s killed by a mortar shell explosion during mountain warfare training in Nevada.

“This brave young man is to be honored and remembered for his courage and service to our country. Roger Muchnick was only 23 years old but lived a life that any parent would be proud of. The town of Westport and the state of Connecticut mourn the loss of this brave Marine. My heartfelt prayers go out to his family.

“Unfortunately, our district has suffered other losses of exemplary fine young men that we never forget. We will forever keep them and their still grieving families in our thoughts and extend our gratitude for their service to our country.”
