Boucher Statement on defeated Labor bills

State Senator Toni Boucher (R-Wilton) released the following statement today in response to the defeat of Labor Committee bills SB 352 and HB 5433:

“The Labor Committee was right to defeat these two bills. Forced unionization on workers who don’t want to unionize is un-American. The effort by the Republican members of the Labor Committee will allow the fight on behalf of day care workers, personal care attendants and those who depend on them to continue. I and other legislators worked to defeat these bills last session, yet the Governor took the unusual step to put them into practice by executive order, bypassing the democratic process.”
