Oxford Legislators to Hold June 29 Informational Forum

June 17, 2011

State Senator Rob Kane and State Representative David Labriola will hold an Informational Forum at the Oxford Town Hall on Wednesday, June 29 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

Kane and Labriola will answer residents’ questions about the recently concluded session of the 2011 Connecticut General Assembly.

A variety of new tax hikes go into effect July 1. Both Kane and Labriola were strong opponents of the tax hikes, which will cost the average Oxford taxpayer an additional $1000 a year.

The legislators will also discuss their opposition to the new law which will enable violent felons to become eligible for early release from prison.

Kane and Labriola were successful in getting legislation passed to create an Oxford Airport Development Zone. The Zone aims to foster new business development, add jobs and generate new municipal and state tax revenues.

The event is free and open to the public.

Oxford Town Hall is located at 486 Oxford Road.
